Peace Lily in 6″Pot

An evergreen herbaceous perennial from the aroid family (Araceae), native to tropical forest understories of Central and South America and Southeast Asia. It grows as a clump of glossy, lance-shaped to elliptical dark-green leaves that arch gracefully from a short base (no woody stem). The “flowers” are actually showy white spathes (modified leaves) that surround a cream to pale-green spadix—two are visible in your photo. Plants range from petite 30 cm types to large 1–2 m cultivars; houseplant forms usually stay 40–60 cm tall.

Quick care: bright, indirect light (tolerates low light but blooms best with good brightness; avoid direct sun which scorches leaves). Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy—water when the top 2–3 cm feels dry; it will droop dramatically when thirsty and perk up after watering. Prefers warmth (18–27 °C), moderate to high humidity (mist or use a pebble tray if air is dry). Feed lightly every 4–6 weeks in spring–summer. Note: all parts are toxic if ingested (calcium oxalate), so keep away from pets/kids. Great low-light bloomer and NASA-listed air-purifier.
