The arrangement typically has 1–3 layers (tiers) of 6–12 stalks (20–40 cm/8–16 in tall), curled into a corkscrew/spiral by rotating the growing shoots toward light; the bright green canes are segmented with nodes, glossy lance-shaped leaves sprout at the top. The glass pot is a clear bowl, cylinder, or matka shape, about 4–6 in (10–15 cm) wide and 4–5 in (10–13 cm) tall, filled with decorative pebbles, colored jelly beads, or river stones that anchor the stalks. No soil—roots sit in clean water (1–2 in deep).

Care: bright indirect light (no harsh sun; low light is tolerated but slows growth). Keep water level covering roots; change water every 7–10 days, rinse pebbles to prevent algae and odor. Use filtered or distilled water (tap chlorine/fluoride can yellow leaves). Temperature 18–30 °C (65–86 °F); avoid cold drafts and AC vents. No fertilizer needed often; if used, a drop of liquid houseplant food every 1–2 months. Remove yellow leaves promptly. Toxic to cats/dogs.
