Grow bags — breathable fabric or HDPE plant containers (often geo-fabric 300–500 GSM), used for terrace, balcony, kitchen and raised-bed gardening. Available in sizes from 5×5 in (13×13 cm) up to 24×24 in (60×60 cm) and 5–20 gallons; common dimensions: 10×10 in, 12×12 in, 15×15 in, 18×12×9 in (rectangular).

Product Description

Made of UV-stabilized non-woven geotextile or woven HDPE, usually grey/maroon/green/black. Features: porous walls for air pruning (roots stop circling and branch), excellent drainage (no single hole needed; water seeps through fabric), reinforced stitched seams, and built-in side handles for moving. Lightweight, foldable, reusable, washable.

Pros: prevents root bound plants via air-pruning, keeps soil cooler (heat escapes), drains well (reduces waterlogging/rot), easy to store (fold flat), portable, inexpensive, works as instant raised bed. Cons: dries out faster than plastic/terracotta (needs more frequent watering), can wick moisture to the floor, fabric may degrade after several seasons of UV.

Use: vegetables (tomato, chilli, brinjal), leafy greens, herbs, flowers, small shrubs. Place on terrace/balcony with a tray if runoff matters. Fill with light potting mix; water more often in hot weather.
