Dracaena Fragrans Victoriae in 6″PotProduct Description
A variegated cultivar of the Corn Plant (Asparagaceae family), native in origin to tropical Africa. It forms an upright, cane-like woody stem with a rosette of strap-shaped leaves at the top. Leaves are glossy, lanceolate, 20–60 cm (8–24 in) long and 4–8 cm (1.5–3 in) wide, dark green in the center with broad creamy-white to pale yellow margins (the ‘Victoriae’ pattern has a wide white edge with a thin green mid-stripe). Indoors it typically reaches 0.6–1.8 m (2–6 ft) tall over many years; outdoors in the tropics it can get much taller (6–15 m). Rarely flowers indoors; mature plants can produce fragrant white panicles at night.
Quick care: bright, indirect light (east/west window; too little light fades the white edges, too much direct sun scorches them). Water when the top 2–5 cm (1–2 in) of soil is dry—keep evenly moist but not soggy; reduce in winter. Use a loose, well-drained potting mix (peat/loam + perlite) and a pot with drainage; sensitive to fluoride/ salts, so filtered or rainwater helps prevent brown tips. Prefers 18–24 °C (65–75 °F) and 40–60 % humidity (mist occasionally, or use a pebble tray). Feed monthly in spring–summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength. Repot every 2–3 years; prune cane tips to control height—new shoots sprout below the cut. Toxic if ingested—keep away from pets/kids.
