Golden Money Plant Ivy in 4″ Pot

A vigorous evergreen vine in the arum family (Araceae), native to the Society Islands (French Polynesia) and naturalized across tropical Asia—super common as the “money plant” in India. It has glossy, heart-shaped leaves (5–10 cm indoors; larger when climbing) in bright green splashed with golden-yellow variegation. Stems are trailing and root readily at nodes; it’s grown as a hanging basket, tabletop trailer, or trained up a moss pole/trellis. Indoors vines easily reach 1–3 m (can be much longer with support).

Quick care: thrives in bright, indirect light (tolerates low light but variegation fades; avoid harsh direct sun which scorches). Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry; tolerates occasional drought, but don’t keep it soggy—root rot is the main issue. Happy in 18–30 °C and average home humidity; appreciates occasional misting in dry air. Feed lightly monthly in spring–summer. Very easy to propagate from stem cuttings in water or soil. Considered auspicious in Vastu/Feng Shui and a good air-purifier, but toxic if ingested (calcium oxalate)—keep away from pets/kids.
